Here’s How to Catch Mythical Mew in Pokémon GO

You can catch Mythical Pokémon Mew in Pokémon GO, but you’ll first need to complete a lengthy list of special research assignments.

Mew debuted in Pokémon GO on March 30, 2018 with the game’s 0.97.2 update on Android and 1.67.2 update on iOS. And though it’s been more than two years since its release, our website just wouldn’t be complete without a guide for catching the popular Psychic-type ‘Mon.

While this may be an exciting time to experience Pokémon GO, catching Mew is no easy feat—there’s quite a bit of grinding involved that’ll slow your roll and, perhaps, defeat your desire. Upon completing the multi-part “A Mythical Discovery” special research, you’ll finally have your chance to seal Mew inside a Poké Ball. You’ll also rack up XP along the way.
